The Chaminade SCRUBS Pre-Health Club recently spent their Sunday morning cleaning up the Kalaeloa Campgrounds to help with the Matson Ka Ipu Aina Program. They got down and dirty and picked up tons of trash! SCRUBS Club has been very committed this year to helping out neighboring communities. Later this month, we will be volunteering at Palolo Elementary School! To see even more photos, be sure to check out our Facebook page!
25 members of Scrubs Pre-health Club volunteered at Leahi Hospital on Saturday, November 16, 2013. Members made gift baskets and crafted paper turkeys with the Leahi residents to celebrate the upcoming Thanksgiving Holiday. The members also participated in rounds of Bingo that the residents really love to play. Overall, Scrubs members enjoyed the visit as much as the staff and residents enjoyed our stay. We hope to visit Leahi Hospital again in Spring 2014! below you’ll find a group photo of SCRUBS Club at Leahi and a few more photos of a lunch social that we had afterwards at Serg’s Mexican Kitchen.
This weekend, The Chaminade University SCRUBS Club conducted its first community service project. Sixteen SCRUBS Club members and students from the Pre-Health Program at Chaminade University participated in an hour long beach cleanup at Waimanalo Beach Park. The students picked up rubbish around the picnic area, baseball field, and beach. This is the first of many community service based projects that the club has planned for the 2013-2014 school year. After the cleanup, students enjoyed some delicious food and participated in a few games to foster team building. Are you interested in joining SCRUBS Club? If you are, then please speak to one of the SCRUBS officers or visit the Office of Health Professions Advising in Ching Hall Room 257/258 for more information.
