Over the past 24 hours, the Chaminade University community has watched as thousands of people have been affected by the devastating earthquake & tsunami in Japan.  As the HI statewide tsunami warning was issued last night, CUH emergency procedures went into effect, alerting community members and preparing for a possible emergency situation.

We realize that many members of our CUH o‘hana have direct connections to Japan and other areas affected by this disaster.

In an effort to reach out to those directly affected, we encourage students to utilize our many support resources on-campus.

  • The campus Counseling Center offers free, confidential counseling to students.  You may contact staff to make an appointment at 735-4845.
  • Staff members from the Division of Student Affairs are available to listen & talk with students.  If you have been directly affected by these events, you may contact the Office of Student Support Services at 735-4724 or Residential Life at 739-4648.
  • Campus Ministry Staff is also available to assist & support members of the CUH community.  You can contact staff through their offices located on the 1st floor of Clarence T. C. Ching Hall (near the Vi & Paul Loo Student Center).
  • The Mystical Rose Oratory is open if campus community members are seeking a place for quiet prayer & reflection.

We will continue to keep you updated on any other happenings on campus.
