August 30, 2012 · 2 Comments · News & Press Releases

Chaminade University student-athletes had an outstanding year in the classroom, with sixty-three Silverswords making their way onto the 2011-12 Pac West Academic All Conference Team, announced in mid-August.

Of Chaminade’s ten sponsored sports, women’s soccer led the way with ten selections, while women’s basketball and softball both placed nine student-athletes on the team.  It is the second straight year that women’s soccer has led the way for CUH with ten selections. On the men’s side, soccer placed eight students on the academic all-conference team while men’s basketball added six selections.  Women’s cross-country placed six of its seven members on the team, while women’s basketball was not far behind as nine of thirteen women’s basketball student-athletes were named to the team.

Chaminade women’s basketball coach Bobby Keanini was proud of the success of his student-athletes. “Our program puts these student-athletes through a lot.  From early morning practice, to competing in a very physical, competitive conference, it’s incredible that they also excel  in the classroom. It is a credit to them as student-athletes.  I love these young ladies and appreciate the sacrifices they make.  I am proud to be associated with them as their coach.”

Every sport in which Chaminade competes was represented on the 2011-12 Pac West Academic All Conference Team.    A full listing of the 2011-12 Pac West Academic All Conference Team players can be downloaded here.

Ten players on the Chaminade women’s soccer team made the 2011-2012 Pac-West Academic All-Conference Team, among the 63 student-athletes from Chaminade that qualified.
