Chaminade University has appointed RaeDeen Keahiolalo-Karasuda, PhD, as its Director of the Office of Native Hawaiian Partnerships. Karasuda comes to Chaminade from Kamehameha Schools, where she held the position of Research and Evaluation Division Manager. Previously, she has served with INPEACE (INPEACE is focused on early childhood education for underserved native Hawaiian communities) and as a counselor for Parents and Children Together (PACT). She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Hawaii-Manoa in 1997 and her PhD degree from the University of Hawaii-Manoa in 2008. Her dissertation explored “The Colonial Carceral and Prison Politics in Hawaii.”

We look forward to Dr. Keahiolalo-Karasuda as part of our senior leadership and helping us with maintaining and strengthening Chaminade partnerships with the Native Hawaiian community.”
Dr. Karasuda begins her service at Chaminade University on February 4.
