Coming April 18-21 : CHAMINADE BRINGS TO MAMIYA THEATRE LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS
The Performing Arts Department of Chaminade University will present Little Shop of Horrors, a musical by Howard Ashman and Alan Menken, at 7:30 p.m. on April 18, 19 and 20, and at 4 p.m. on April 21, at Mamiya Theatre. A SAD NOTE: COMPOSER OF CHAMINADE ALMA MATER HAS DIED
John McCreary, Canon Organist Emeritus of St. Andrew’s Cathedral, who transformed the choral music scene in Honolulu over his 60 years of conducting and playing organ, has died at the age of 83. John is associated with Chaminade first and foremost as the composer of the music to our stirring alma mater, and he played at many important occasions for the University, including the 50th Anniversary Masses and celebrations, as well as many of the HVAE Christmas Concerts in Mystical Rose Oratory. Chorus angelorum te suscipiat. May he rest in peace. Information about his services will be forthcoming, wrote Professor Tim Carney.
