Celebration of Life for Mike Fassiotto

Michael E. “Mike” Fassiotto, PhD passed away peacefully on June 15, 2013. Born in San Francisco, he was 68 and is survived by wife Marie-Jose; daughters Alana and Magali; brothers Anthony, Ed and Gene; and three grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Dr. Fassiotto at the Mystical Rose Oratory on Monday, July 15, at 1 p.m. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers or gifts, any contributions be made to Chaminade University in support of our graduate programs.

A beloved member of the Chaminade community, Dr. Fassiotto provided key leadership for Chaminade’s graduate programs since 1997 and served as the university’s associate provost and director of Graduate Studies. In addition, Dr. Fassiotto had been instrumental in seeding Chaminade’s recent international efforts with Asia as well as spearheading recent graduate online program development.  He was also a long-time Marianist Education Associate (M.E.A.). Whether he was leading the Christmas carolers down the Kalaepohaku mountaintop annually or shepherding Chaminade staff, faculty, students, and alumni as well as members of the Kaimuki community during Chaminade’s massive 50th anniversary celebration, he did it all with an easygoing joy.  His laughter and wisdom will be missed. There is much gratitude for Mike’s life and the legacy he blessed the university with.

Our prayers continue for Mike’s eternal rest and the consolation of his wife, Marie Jose and his family.
