NOTABLES

  • U.S. News & World Report on Friday (9/13) announced its Best Colleges 2014 edition rankings for 1800 schools nationwide. Chaminade broke through the ranks for the first time this year taking the 80th spot in the western region.  The college ranking categories are based upon the 2010 Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching classifications. The Carnegie classification system has been used by U.S. News since the first Best Colleges rankings in 1983, because they are the basis for classifying schools by most higher education researchers.
  • Earlier this summer, College Factual released its national diversity rankings for 1566 U.S. colleges and ranked Chaminade as #1 in ethnic diversity and #2 in overall diversity.  HPU, which has a strong international component to its enrollment, took #1 for overall diversity and #5 in ethnic diversity.  University of Hawaii took #33 in ethnic diversity and #4 in overall diversity (Stanford University, CA took #3 in overall diversity and #12 in ethnic diversity).
