—Dr. Shi Yinhong of Renmin University of China to deliver a featured presentation and facilitate discussion–
Chaminade University will host the annual Spring Forum on Sino-Capitalism, established three years ago to explore a facet of China’s emergent variety of capitalism. Recognizing China’s ever growing global importance, Chaminade has worked to increase its campus community’s awareness of the country’s social and economic dynamics. This year’s event is sponsored by the Bank of Hawaii, and partial funding is provided by the Regent Stanley W. Hong Endowed Fund for Distinguished Asia-Pacific Speakers and Scholars. Chaminade’s partner organization for this event is the East-West Center.

The lecture will be held at the Waialae Country Club on Thursday, March 20, 2014. Registration begins at 3:30 p.m., and refreshments will be served. Dr. Yinhong’s lecture will begin at 4 p.m. to be followed by discussion until 5:30 p.m. Although the lecture is free and open to the public, seating is limited, so an RSVP to Chaminade University is required, at firstname.lastname@example.org, or (808) 735-4816.
This year’s featured speaker is Dr. Shi Yinhong, Professor of International Relations and Director of the Center for American Studies at Renmin University of China in Beijing. A highly published author who specializes in the history and theory of international politics, strategic studies, East Asian security and China’s and the United States’ foreign policies, Dr. Yinhong has also served as a Counselor to the State Council of the People’s Republic of China since February 2011.
