David Cohen, former president of Common Cause, co-founder of The Advocacy Institute and considered by many as the preeminent voice of public advocacy, will be the keynote speaker at Chaminade University’s Hogan Entrepreneurs graduation and induction ceremony on Wednesday, April 23, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., at the Mystical Rose Oratory, at Chaminade University, 3140 Waialae Avenue, Honolulu 96816. The Hogan Entrepreneurs program will recognize Cohen with its Lifetime Achievement Award.

Since the early 1960s, Cohen has fought for (and against) trade unionism, civil rights, campaign reform, Vietnam, and the wars against poverty and hunger.  Today he is a consultant to the Campaign for Tobacco Free Kids, the senior congressional fellow for the Council for a Livable World and a senior adviser at Encore.org, which helps boomers find socially useful second careers.

In addition, the winners of the Hogan/American Savings Bank Non-Profit Business Plan Competition will be announced.  More than $30,000 in prizes will be awarded to the winners of the competition.

The event is free and open to the public.  Please contact Valery Baranets at jackeline.sanqui@chaminade.edu or (808) 440-4280 to RSVP and for event information.
