All students, including those on the Chaminade’s NCAA Division II Women’s Tennis team, like Kim Takara and Michelle Bucher , will be able to take advantage of new courts once renovations are completed.

Chaminade University is celebrating a new major gift of $100,000 from Mr. Sai Cheong Chui, B.A. ’76, M.B.A. ’78. The purpose of his gift is to renovate the two tennis courts on Chaminade’s upper campus.
Chui, a member of Chaminade’s Board of Governors, noted that he was pleased to help with the renovation of the tennis courts he once used as a student. Chui was a member of Chaminade’s first graduating MBA class in 1978. A leading member of Macau’s business community, Chui helped spearhead a new Chaminade joint MBA program with his organization, the Macau Institute of Management. The first cohort has just completed the program and will be participating in Chaminade’s winter commencement exercises.
Regarding the new gift, Chaminade’s President, Bro. Bernard J. Ploeger, SM, PhD, noted that the effort is part of Chaminade’s commitment to building a richer campus life for our residential students, supporting athletics and educating the whole person.
This complete “makeover” will allow the students of Chaminade to use these courts for daily tennis practice (as well as high school students of the university’s campus neighbor, Saint Louis School). As a NCAA Division II university, Chaminade’s Women’s tennis team is perhaps the most excited about the upgrades.
Celebrating 60 years of educating students for life, service and successful careers, Chaminade University offers a four-year graduation guarantee with programs of study grounded in the liberal arts including day, evening, online and accelerated courses.
