Chaminade faculty members, Eva Rose Washburn-Repollo and Richard Kido, were part of the Hawaii contingent who attended the New York City Arrival Ceremony this June to welcome the Hōkūleʻa voyaging canoe. Native Americans led the  with songs, chants, offerings, and smoke. Sponsored by the Hawaii Tourism Authority and Hawaiian Airlines, the weeklong celebration was an opportunity to share the adventures of Hōkūleʻa and its Mālama Honua Worldwide Voyage,  as well as to share Hawaiian culture with the people of New York.
