During an 18 month time period that will conclude on January 22, 2018, the two religious orders — the Society of Mary (Marianists) and the Daughters of Mary Immaculate (Marianist Sisters) — are celebrating the bicentennial of their foundations. The bicentennial commemoration will include celebrations across the world. A focal point will be an icon triptych that includes original letters penned by Adèle de Batz de Trenquelléon and Father Chaminade, together with artwork depicting the wedding feast at Cana created by an Italian Marianist. The triptych will travel the Marianist world with stops in countries as varied as Austria, Togo, Korea and Mexico. The icon will be in the United States from early November through the end of January, and in Hawaii from Nov. 16 – 20, 2016.
The Marianist Province of the United States has also provided Chaminade University with a banner that will be displayed at various events and places on campus during the bicentennial. The banner is now on display in the lobby of T. C. Ching Hall just inside the main entrance.
